China's bid for the Gundam campaign. This young fighter is probably the best of the other 4 Shuffle members, providing Domon with more challenge than the rest. He fights to revive the Shaolin Temple, a quest his deceased and former Gundam fighter father left for him. On a personal basis, Sai is still every bit a kid. He specializes in playing pranks on Domon and, like all kids, is afraid of ghosts, mummies to be exact. In the Neo-Egypt episode, he spends most of his time hanging on to Domon for dear life, afraid of the Mummy Gundam out for his blood. He is also an excellent cook, probably a Chinese trait. As to fighting, I can say he impressed me the most. First, in his debut episode, he is the only one whose first match with Domon ended in a draw. I didn't count George de Sand's giving up because given half a chance, Domon could have whipped his royal butt. Secondly, in the Kiana Mountain episode, he held forth on his own while the rest had to be teamed. Okay, so Schwarz was suppose to help him, but he left and it didn't seem to matter if he was to cover that side alone. Third, in Hongkong, his fight with Domon proved to be the best Gundam Fight in the whole show because of its intensity and damage level. Although the one badly damaged by God, he showed the persistence and determination worthy of a really great fighter. Besides, the high level of damage to Dragon shows that Domon had to result to extreme measures to defeat Sai, even to the point of dismantling Dragon. That's not to say he didn't inflict damage on God in turn. In fact, he wasted the whole right arm of God that was used for the God finger. Fourth, he is the only one who wisely didn't give Domon a before the match glimpse of their secret move, Argo not counted of course. Any inkling Domon might have that he's got something new was barely revealed by Allenby challenging him . . . until he controlled himself. And lastly, I like his supermode version, the butterfly pose, not to mention his team-up fight alongside Argo. |
